In the 10 years from 2008 to 2018, China's digital economy grew at a very fast pace. According to estimates by China Info 100, the proportion of the digital economy’s contribution to GDP rose from 15% in 2008 to 33% in 2017. Despite the emergence of new technologies and business models in the ICT industry, the proportion of its contribution to GDP remained basically stable at about 7%.
